Dental Sedation Treatment
Dental sedation is a way of relaxing a patient by giving a small amount of sedative drug before treatment. Sedation can be used for patients that are having long or complex treatments as well as to help those that have a worry or fear of the dentist.
It is extremely safe and wears off quickly so that you can go home soon after the treatment has finished. You will be very clam and relaxed and often have very little memory of the procedure.

No, sedation can linger in your system for up to 8 hours after the treatment has finished so you will need to be escorted to the appointment and home again afterwards. We advise that you don’t do anything for the rest of the day, you may feel a little sleepy and forgetful which is all normal and will wear off gradually.
People who have sedation find it a really pleasant way to have their dental treatment done and prefer to have this every time. Other people find that having their treatment under sedation builds their confidence enough to try treatment without. Whatever your choice, we can help find the right way for you.
Sedation is not usually given to children under 16. All patients are asked to complete a detailed medical questionnaire and if there are any reasons why sedation may not be suitable, they will be discussed with you by your dentist. You will be booked for an initial sedation consultation appointment in which you will be assess and be given all the information and costs. One hour of sedation costs £250
